what we stand for for Eindhoven
ambities

1. Living is a right.
We build according to the needs of all, not the few: affordable and accessible.
To achieve our goals, we take greater initiative in deciding where and how construction takes place, allocate more resources to bridge unfavorable market conditions, and work toward a systemic shift toward a government that builds again.
We involve residents at an early stage and ensure our partners do the same. We work closely with our housing associations.

2. Security in uncertain times.
While everything is becoming more expensive, we will do everything we can to ease the burden, redistribute wealth, lower prices, and strengthen incomes.
We help residents stay in control of their finances and ensure that work pays off. Where necessary, we push the limits to support people and promote fair work.
At the same time, we strengthen the local economy and entrepreneurship. Together with our partners, we are building an affordable and just Eindhoven.

3. The power of doing things together!
Democratization begins in the city itself. In Eindhoven, we build the city of tomorrow together with residents, neighborhoods, and organizations. Everyone has a voice in the decisions that shape their living environment. This requires openness, trust, and room for initiative. By involving people early in the planning process, we strengthen support, implementation, and democracy from the ground up. In this way, the people of Eindhoven themselves build a city where everyone has

4. Recognizable neighborhoods
Eindhoven should once again become a city of recognizable neighborhoods where people feel at home, meet each other, and take initiative together.
Neighborhoods where care, facilities, and liveliness are close by. Residents, organizations, and entrepreneurs should have the means and space to make an impact and take initiative. In this way, we strengthen a sense of ownership and bring connection back into the city.

5. Real growth is shared growth.
The growth of our city is something to be proud of. Here we are building the prosperity and jobs of today and tomorrow — for Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and Europe. Standing still is not an option: the risks of stagnation are greater than those of progress. But growth is only meaningful when everyone grows along. Too often, not all residents, organizations, and businesses in Eindhoven benefit from progress. We must prevent Eindhoven from becoming a city of two speeds. Real gr

6. Great ambition comes with great responsibility.
Taking control is the only way to become the city we want to be. Eindhoven is growing rapidly, and that growth calls for a stronger government one that provides direction, dares to make choices, and takes responsibility. From building ourselves to facilitating local initiatives. For real breakthroughs, we take an active role, even where we are not formally in charge. We push the boundaries of what can be done locally. We also ask everyone to contribute fairly so that together

7. Freedom, safety, and solidarity
Eindhoven is a city where everyone is welcome regardless of origin, income, or who you love. That is something to be proud of. But more and more Eindhoven residents feel less at home. Intimidation, exclusion, and discrimination have no place here. Freedom and safety require effort from all of us. Everyone who lives, works, or does business in Eindhoven contributes to a city built on respect and trust. We do not leave anyone behind. We invest in safety, prevention, and strong

8. A healthy city
Access to care and a healthy life form the foundation of a strong city. Health begins with a clean, safe environment, sufficient physical activity, and accessible healthcare. It is a shared responsibility of the entire city. The municipality focuses on prevention, local support, and quick, straightforward assistance. In this way, Eindhoven remains a city where healthy living is the norm and good care is accessible to everyone, regardless of financial situation.

9. Started young, succeeded together
Eindhoven’s growth must create a better city for our children and grandchildren.
That development should offer opportunities for every generation.
We refuse to accept that your chances in life depend on where you were born.
A strong foundation starts from the earliest years: good and accessible education, a healthy beginning, participation, safe neighborhoods, and space for accessible sports, culture, and technology.
Parents, schools, associations, businesses, and the municip

10. Fewer rules, more trust
More direction does not mean more bureaucracy. Eindhoven is full of inspiration and good ideas. Those who do good work should be given space, not obstacles. We work from a basis of trust, aiming for less paperwork, more clarity, and faster progress — especially for initiatives that strengthen Eindhoven socially, culturally, or communally. This way, we keep the government close and the city moving.

11. We break through bubbles
In Eindhoven, we are one. To counter polarization, we invest in connection, integration, and dialogue between newcomers and long-time residents, between young and old. Everyone should be able to feel at home in a city that continues to grow. We strengthen communities and give them the space to meet, celebrate together, and take part in shaping Eindhoven’s development.
